 London in der Vorweihnachtszeit: Das Leben von Kate (Emilia Clarke) verläuft alles andere als rund. Sie stolpert von einem selbstverschuldeten Chaos ins nächste und selbst ihre Arbeit als Elf in einem Weihnachtsladen beschert ihr kein Glück.

 Es scheint wie ein Wunder, als eines Tages Tom (Henry Golding) in ihr Leben tritt und es nach und nach schafft, die vielen Barrieren, die Kate um sich und ihr Herz aufgebaut hat, zu durchbrechen. Doch obwohl es Tom gelingt, Kate wieder Lebensfreude und Selbstvertrauen zu schenken, scheint er doch ein Geheimnis zu haben.
